Hi all, I know there are a number of threads on props but I am hoping to focus on my specific situation. It appears different year 2190’s perform a little differently. I am looking for advisement specific to the 2016 and anyone that has experience with it. I currently have the standard factory set back and set up. I do not plan to install a jack plate although am planning to install trim tabs. I have the SWS2 20 pitch prop. She tops out at about 5400 RPMs and 52 mph. The whole shot is decent with two guys in the boat but I do frequently fish with four, and usually only have two seats in the boat with the other two guys using the jumpseat. Most everyone is good sized and the guys that typically sit in the back are around 250. The whole shot with four in the boat and using the jump seats is awful. Was considering going to a four blade prop. While it would be nice to get another mile or two per hour my biggest concern is improving the jhole shot and rough water stability. Appreciate any recommendations around a four blade prop or other prop specific to the 2016 2190. Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Bill,
My advice before you go down the head swirling of prop opinions & options is to let us know what motor hole you are mounted in.
5400 rpms is far short of what that should be.

Thanks for the comments. It appears to me that it is mounted on the third hole from the top. To clarify, this positions motor higher up on the boat. Mounting through the top hole would position motor lower on boat and water. It looks like there may be 4 possible mounting hole options, although I may be missing one that is covered up. Thanks. I would highly recommend going down 1 hole. 2nd from the top.

Do you think that would allow me to turn higher rpm’s? What would be downside of mounting in top hole? Thanks

Ok, thanks. I will give that a try prior to considering any prop changes, so that I can evaluate the impact of the position change
