At the start of my second season on this farm I finally feel as though I can say I have a fairly good understanding of this farm. Last year I spent a lot of time in observation stands just trying to get a feel for how this farm lays out.
After passing on a number of 2.5 and 3.5 year old bucks last year it appears it is starting to pay off already.

Lets just hope that even half of them stay around for the season!!

Man, those are some terrific looking and very big bodied deer.

Lets just hope that even half of them stay around for the season!!

That’s the way I feel every year as well. Here’s hoping you get some chances to see these guys up close during the season.

    Great pics.

Don’t get buck fever already! Those are some studs. For me at least it seems the bucks that are around all summer tend to not be around for deer season. I don’t archery hunt anymore so maybe you will be lucky and they stick around for you.

Between the crops that are planted on my farm compared to all the neighbors I think I have a pretty good chance for them to stick around until after harvest.
Last year I was keeping my eye on 6 different bucks and all 6 of them were on at least 1 camera or seen on the farm at least once every week all the way through gun season!
We have put very minimum pressure on this farm this year and plan to keep it that way until it time to move in and close the deal on one of them!!
