Looking to buy a new year model St Croix Legend Elite 7 ft either in a MLF or MF. The MLF is rated for 4 to 10 lb line and the MF is 6 to 12 lb test. I will be basically be using this for throwing 1/4 0z 4.5 Salmo rattlin Hornets.Which one would be best for this application?

I have two of the 7′ MLF Legend Elites. I have caught a ton of Walleyes on those rods and absolutely love them. I mostly pitch hair jigs and plastics with them but they are also perfect for SMB too. I would think you would be fine casting 1/4 oz cranks with the MLF.

You will love that rod and any other spinning rod you pick up will feel like a baseball bat in comparison.

Go with the 7′ MLF. You won’t be disappointed.

Thank You gentleman 7′ MLF it is ! I live about 5.5 miles from the St Croix store. Devils Lake ND is where those salmos will get the most use. But will be using them on local water also.
