Breaking Down New Water / Go-to Techniques
Bill Shimota is a professional fisherman from Northfield, Minnesota. He has been fishing walleye tournaments since 1997 when he started fishing local tournaments on the Mississippi River and Lake Mille Lacs.
Since 1997, when Shimota started his tournament career, he quickly became known as a river specialist by competing and consistently finishing well in the WWA, MTT, LPO and FLW League events. In 2006, Bill moved up to competing on the national stage by entering MWC, NTC, FLW Tour, and NWT events. Since moving to the national level tournaments, Bill has learned to become a consistent contender on the Great Lakes tournaments, adding that along with his river resume’ has made him one of the most consistent contenders in the game no matter which body of water a tournament is held on! In 2010, Bill made fishing and the promotion of fishing his career.
Bills approach to learning more than just river fishing has earned him some pretty prestigious titles:
