2015 Silverado thermostat issue or??

My truck has 96,000 miles. When driving from a cold start up, the gauge shows the temp going up to 210 (I assume the thermostat opens) then drops down some. Then the temp can vary from 185-210 depending if I’m driving at highway speeds or idling at a stop light. It never goes above 210 and the heater works fine.
Should I be concerned about this or how do I troubleshoot?

Those gauges are electric and known to be faulty. I wouldnt worry about it if its putting out heat and not running hot.

If it keeps providing heat and does not overheat I would not be worried. The engine light should also come on if the stat is operating out of range also.

My wife had her radiator replaced and then ever since the gauge wouldnt go up to full. It did kick out heat, but we brought it back and they scanned it with an instant thermometer and said it was fine. Replaced the thermostat multiple times and it still reads low. Its very odd though since it read fine before the radiator was replaced.

I actually misread the temp gauge. The temp varies between 210 and 197, not 185. So not as bad as I thought.
