With the Walleye season coming to an end, I know us Dino chasers will be taking their place on the River? Anyone going up this weekend? Our group is heading up next Wednesday.

Looks like water temps are reaching 50 degrees, the flow is slow enough to possibly be using 2-3 oz. weights, and no signs that the river is muddy yet.

Looking forward reading a few reports and seeing some pictures of some giants! Good luck everyone!

The river shouldn’t muddy up with all the tributaries open.I was fishing at 8 mile marker yesterday ,it was slow we did get 1 over 50.The river is s really clear and slow flowing nice fishing. The suckers are running, and we did get a few eyes by accident.
I think it is going to be a great season.

That was a brutal trip. 188 angling hours. Averaged 1 fish every 6 angling hours.

I put 40hrs in the boat in two days with nothing over 5# to show for it…
Other 3 guys stayed in the boat 26hrs a piece.

We did catch a 46# Saturday~2am though. Beyond that, it was all fish under 5#.

Good thing you stayed home for the O.T.

Sounds like you had an opportunity to try out the new net though!

    Was the water dirty?

I person would think they would be just HAMMERED in this low/slow water? )

I was up Thursday-Sunday with a few other members. One boat landed 20+fish one day. While we didn’t have those numbers we have several mid 40” fish with a few over 50”. 56” was our longest fish and Tyler had one at 53”.

Flow was low and we fought the wind each day.

Water was super clear unless you were in the gap – that was fairly dirty, but there also wasn’t any fish out there.
Been told those who were closer to the Forks did pretty well.

Net worked great. That 56″ fish had room to swim in the net boat side )

    Nice sunrise saturday morning though.
Can easily say i was the only one on the water MOnday midnight – 2am (Kind of nasty out!!)

70″ during walleye season. Couldn’t keep sturgeon off. Also got a 65 and 64 plus many mid 50s.

Thanks to the boys fishing by the Rapid River saturday. Quite entertaining!

Drinking heavy and having fun. Only boat to finally hook up to a nice sturgeon. You hear one of the guys go “We Don’t F Around Here BOYS!!”.

About 30 seconds later the guy fighting the fish appears to lose it….We had to laugh quite hard….But not as much as 30 seconds after that when the guy realized it was still on!!! LOL

Typically you see much more of that entertainment on the Rainy for the sturgeon run. That’s half the fun, just watching others catch fish. Wasn’t much of that this weekend – So hat’s off to you “Wisconsin Boys” for keeping it fun up there!
