Opener in Central WI, no snow fron the storm, the turkeys flew down and no deer seen yet. Was going to try to post a pic, but it’s going g to make me do it later

November 21, 2015 at 10:18 am #1578629Another little 6 chasing does. Been steady this morning with little bucks chasing does in the sanctuary . Got a glimpse of a nice buck sneaking in there before shooting time. Hope he makes a fatal mistake and walk back out

November 21, 2015 at 7:19 pm #1578688Had a button buck milling around me for most of the afternoon today, he bedded probably 60yds from me at like 1:45 and then reappeared about 4:20 to come within 15yds of where I sat. That’s all I saw other than a couple fleeing figures well off in fields after hearing shots around me.
November 22, 2015 at 8:57 am #15787502 hours of organized chaos. Had 2 to 5 does with a little buck crossing the field from before light to 830am. We put a little guy with a limp down. No big bucks yet…few old educated does might need to meet Mr Barnes Ttsx

November 22, 2015 at 1:05 pm #1578827This is the most fun we’ve had in years. Been steady again with little bucks chasing does. Even more fun when youbtouchbthe trigger

November 22, 2015 at 6:32 pm #1578888Same yearling was bedded 40yds away today when I sat down and him and a buddy stayed around literally all day, one had a slight limp and I debated burning my doe tag but after seeing nothing that indicated the wound was from human actions I let it walk. Hopefully Tuesday morning will yield better…
Randy I’m jealous of all that snow. Between seeing facebook posts of bucks from IL this weekend in the snow and all the southern WI bucks in the snow I don’t think I’ve ever been more jealous.
November 22, 2015 at 7:35 pm #1578908Of coarse it’s a great day when tags get filled…but dang was it cold. Wasn’t quite ready for 7 degrees this morning
November 24, 2015 at 6:27 pm #1579511Started north of the snow this morning without seeing a deer, ended in the snow seeing a single (95% sure) doe who stayed just out of range and in the thickest part of the woods where never got a good clear look.
November 25, 2015 at 10:38 am #1579634Sat this morning, at 8:30 had decent (my guess 2 1/2yr) buck come trotting in and stop broadside, except for the 6in sapling that was right in front of his front leg and shoulder region it would have been a perfect shot. He then turned around and trotted away into the woods….
I walked the woods at 9:15 at then end of my sit due to other priorities this afternoon, and managed to miss him as he got up from his bed…..Missing sucks it sucks even more when it’s the only buck you’ve seen all season.
deertrackerPosts: 9231November 27, 2015 at 2:01 pm #1580026Needed to relax so I headed out to the stand with the video camera. Looks like the neighbors hunting pressure has taken its toll. Only recorded a button bucks and fawn doe so far. Way off from seeing 30 deer on opening

November 28, 2015 at 12:23 pm #1580165Well was finally able to punch a tag today, filled my bonus doe tag. It was an interesting morning with my first shot at this doe (which unless proven wrong while butchering tomorrow I believe connected) right at shooting light, but I didn’t get her till almost 9 when I found her and her twins bedded. I still hold an antlerless tag and my buck tag for Portage county, so I’ll be making a couple sits during the muzzleloader season.
The small 6-8 I missed Wed morning was harvested today in the same woods as I was sitting and I heard the shots. And talked with the guy as he slit his tag.

December 3, 2015 at 4:28 pm #1581778Cool night, geese flying over going back to the river, wind in my favor, and fresh tracks leading to the bean plot. Hopes are high and confidence medium.
deertrackerPosts: 9231December 3, 2015 at 8:17 pm #1581843Sure was colder than I expected this morning. It was 11 degrees when I climbed into the stand. Was not able to let the muzzy bark though.
DTDecember 4, 2015 at 6:50 pm #1582157Sat this evening with the muzzy, not a thing moved. Well if a chainsaw wielding landowner counts then yes I had movement. Had to go to my backup location after he drove in on a gator and began sawing away probably 200yds away.
December 4, 2015 at 9:58 pm #1582185Nic, if he was cutting poplar I wouldn’t be worried about being near by. Had many deer move in while guys were cutting when I hunted the Prentice area north of you….assuming your near point.
Protourbaits1Posts: 191December 5, 2015 at 7:13 am #1582212Back at the river stand where my wife shot a buck last Sunday. 39 degrees and windy
December 5, 2015 at 7:57 am #1582218Beautiful morning in OTC. 36 degrees, south wind, and about 4″ of snow on the ground. Corn in this plot is mostly eaten now, but lots of fresh tracks.

December 5, 2015 at 10:15 am #1582241Went out for a few hours this morning. Nothing moving except squirrels. I’m ready for ice fishing!
December 5, 2015 at 3:10 pm #1582292Never say die Joe, lots of great hunting yet to come. No ice, might as well hunt. New spot tonigt, a place where I have 2 new non residents bucks passing thru this week.trespassers will be shot

December 5, 2015 at 6:34 pm #1582334Sat this morning till ten, then walked the timber trying to make movement. No deer in the am but did kick up two monster coyotes, which led to a quick stop at the adjoining landowners home to secure permission to hunt his fields adjoining the woods. so new coyote property is in.
Sat from noonish till 4:15 and had a doe at 35yds directly behind me so with maneuvering around a tree and she spotting me as soon as I had even looked back in her direction I didn’t get a shot.
At 2:30 I had a hunter appear from out of nowhere and walk a big circle through the woods around me. I hunt small parcels of public, so that didn’t make me real happy.Randy, the chainsawing was essentially between me and where I anticipated deer to come into the finger of timber I was in. So deer would have had to be within 75yds of him sawing away to get to me otherwise I would have stayed.
December 6, 2015 at 8:15 am #1582408Hunting the deep woods today next to a very thick bedding area

December 6, 2015 at 11:40 am #1582445Gave it a go this am for a few hours. After finding my first choice location already parked in by another hunter I went to my backup and saw nothing. Mentally just done with deer hunting for the year so my season is up. Bring on the ice and cold and charging coyotes.
