Interesting. Bull Winkle came out and the other 5 bucks RAN across the field. I guess bachelor life is going to come to an end soon. Too dark to see anymore. 7 bucks, 4does, 6 fawns.
Cool Randy, a sleep over with the deer. Wow, velvet coming off already and bachelor groups breaking up. Must be getting close to hunting season
It is so cool to have a bed in a deerstand loving this. Had a half dozen deer across the alpha la this morning g at first light. Couple small bucks walked across the field to go to their bedding areas. Time to go to work
You got it made Randy
I built this tower for my Dad to use. A little over the top…but hey, for everything he has done for me….the least I can do. He’s not getting around too well. So now he can drive up with the wheeler and walk the stairs up. Just nice that this has really become a multi-use shack. All summer, daughters have hung out here, when I work near my farm I stay out here. But most of all has been the time we all spend together in foul weather. When its just plain nasty out, we can all hang out in here – laugh, be silly, and have family time.
However, when October rolls around and all you guys are bow hunting every night, watching bucks fight, having the time of your lives—-I’ll be at trade shows WISHING I was out there.
Great pic of the family, but what is Dad doing with that Bears hat on?
I know the feeling of setting it up for your Dad, I had a similar but not quite so extravagant one for my Dad. He is gone now and my Uncle his brother will use it. He is going in for knee replacement in a week so it will be a welcome spot for him this season and hopefully for many more!
Fuzzy buck down. Don Wilson just sent me his pics.
WI 8pnt down in full velvet
Congrats Don!!!!
Wouldn’t be early season without getting located by a crop of Mosquitos.
Wind is laying down. Squirrels r mad as heck at me. Should be a great night.
Windy as heck tonight. Sitting over brassicas on a field edge. Come on bucks.
Last night the wolves pretty much blew it for all of us. 5 ran past Todders. They were chasing the deer around me. FWS better get this under control soon. As I was walking out they started howling/moaning about 100 yards away. Creepy.
Sitting for the first time at home. Brown beans in front of me, corn at my back and acres of CRP to my left. Wind at my back. Hoping for a little action in this warm weather.
Cool shack Randy. Been out a couple times in a new spot and have always seen deer just nothing to shoot at yet..my younger boy had a real nice 8 pointer by him but just a little to far away..told him to be patient and he will give you a shot sooner or later. Best hunting yet to come. Good luck out there guys and gals.
Young 8 from tonight .
Not sure why the pic flipped sideways.
Little different view tonight, on the west side. Mostly brown beans in front of me. Wind in my face, squirrels everywhere and the rain pretty much just quit. Muggy as heck though.
Wow, the air is so thick the deer couldn’t move. Coons were out again.
Been chasing this guy around since he was in velvet. Have sat 3 times and have seen him twice. Both times between 60 and 100 yards. One of these nights I will pick the right stand!!
Picture is from Saturday nights sit.
Great spot tonight overlooking a fall planted rye/clover plot. Trail cam pics show big John in here 3 nights this week.
This deer is really irritating me.
NEVER get a clear shot of him on ANY trail cams. Always stays to the far edge of the range of the camera.
No daylight pics of him yet, but I know he is the biggest/oldest around me. I have videos of bucks running, then he struts by.
Anyways – I about crapped myself when I saw the time stamp. 1 minute before I got a shot of myself turning the camera off. I cut through the woods straight to the camera – he walked the field edge right under my stand. Would have liked to see him in person
