Try fishing at night at the old location of Stillwater Beach that spot has been working really good for usually 5-10lb channel cats.

Fished the Minnesota upstream of New Ulm yesterday. Constant action, no real monsters, but a good first shakedown trip of the year.

Wow! I love catching those fat cats as opposed to the ones that look unhealthy and starving.

Took my boys out to the Minnesota river near Fort Snelling Park. They were so excited to go catch their first channel cats! Luckily I was able to get them each a fish. A 6-11 and a 3-11, still figuring out how to fish the rivers!

A few from today. Sudden Impact was the ticket to a bent rod today. Crawlers in 36 feet of water brought in a finger cutting shovel nose.

Tried a little drift fishing on pool 2 today. Was bouncing a cut sucker on the bottom in about 30′ of water when I stumbled into this beauty.

I’ve lived in town for a year, and want to get back into fishing for catfish. I don’t have a boat or access to a boat. I’m looking for places to fish from shore like Colvill or Bay Point or under the bridge. Are there any cats in these places that are reachable from shore? I came from Prescott and frequently caught them from my own beach and now am not sure where to throw the line in.

The cat bite has been slow for me this year. These are the largest cats so far caught today.
