Pulled the card after a week. Kind of disappointed. Only a few does and other woodland creatures. The land owner has seen a few very big bucks in the area but the are not using my mineral site or i didn’t have the camera set right. Moved it too a good trail intersection.

This is a clean 11 pointer that we have up north. He is not the biggest buck seen in the area but the biggest on camera. He will be great next year but not sure if he will make it as he is on a camera close to the neighbors property.

I was trying to figure out an age on him. I can post a looking at the camera shot tomorrow. Body looks big and has those neck rolls.

    He looks 5.5 to me.

Wouldn’t doubt that at all. I would have to look past the rack score and see the trophy this buck is for his age and body mass. Think how big he might get before he stops eating to chase does all day long.

    Kooty,
You’ll get him… Do you have a rifle tag for Hand Co.?

No. Can’t get one as a nonresident. Well if there were any buck tags left by the 4th drawing…

Everyone should check cameras the next couple days. Mine are going nuts tonight with the full moon.

My gosh! I guess I didn’t realize he was such a stud! I’m excited to see how this unfolds! More time off work please!

Introducing MEGATRON……… right under my tree opening morning. This is an OLD boy .. has to be 6.5 or 7.5 years old. One of the largest bodied deer Ive ever seen.

Deertracker, I had the same story in Sept. The numbers of pictures on my mineral lick have also fallen way off starting in September. I used to get most deer visiting every day making for dozens of pics each day, but now I get only a few pictures per week and the bucks seem to be ignoring the mineral full stop. No buck pics in the last 2 weeks.

I’ve moved cameras to trails to try to catch more deer coming/going.

My mature bucks quit the minerals around Sept 1 no later than mid Sept. I still get lots of does, fawns and young bucks every night though.

I can’t wait to see this one next year. he is a 6×5 right now. Any guess on age? He seems pretty young to me.

I’d say he’s at least 3.5 years old and probably 4.5. The whole deer looks pretty heavy to me. He is going to be a whopper if he made it.

This one could be a stud in a year or two. I hope he gets wider but we seem to have a genetics line in our area for these narrow but tall racks. It’s cool to look at the deer taken over the years and see the patterns. The other genetics line we seem to have is buck with their G3’s bigger than their G2’s.

A buck I have been watching for a while and his development. Pretty neat buck. Neighbor shot him with his bow in the middle of november.

What year were those trail cam pictures taken? Looks like the trail cam and kill pics are from different years unless he broke that left side. Cool buck!

These were taken all from this year. Basically his whole left side busted off except for the split brow and he had some tines bust off on his right side as well.

It’s a shame he was killed without full head gear. Cool pics though.
