So I put my half broken bushnell (screen doesnt work cant controll any settings) in my back yard to see if it is even worth putting out this year. So date and time are not able to be changed. But obviously it takes pictures fine. I was shocked to see this buck because i live town. I filed that cheap feeder with birdseed for the wife so I don’t have to fill it all the time.
Might have to sit on my roof with my bow a few evenings..lol
Any guess to score and spread of this CitySlicker?
Oh my!!! Don’t know score but I would guess 150. Give or take 4 inches. 22 wide? He’s a beauty.
Here kitty, kitty, kitty… Adding some Meow Mix to the mineral lick seems to be paying off.
I’ll be back for you after deer season.

And a night picture of the same buck I posted above. We get pics of this guy every week so he’s one of the locals.

These pictures were from last year and I forgot to post.
Note the time stamp from two of the pictures…
we will be applying for wolf tags this year(otter tail county!! WTH)
It certainly could be a wolf. It’s difficult to tell the height of the shoulder because the black back coloring blends in with the black background at this point.
But the head appears right for a wolf and the direction the ears face look right for a wolf vs a coyote.
Big coyote is also possible IMO because comparing the length of the legs to the torso, it may not be long enough legged to be a wolf. But again, the picture is obscured just enough…
But an interesting sequence to be sure.

The blood has officially started coursing through my veins again. It finally feels like the season is getting closer. I had one camera out on land within the 601 metro zone and there are some good looking deer out there.
The first deer we’ve been getting on camera for the last three years and think he is 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 years old. I’m glad he made it another year. He’s definitely been getting a little mass to him. A lot of cool junk around his bases. We call him CrabClaw
The next one we have never seen, or he was a smaller buck that just BLEW up. I’m not sure what I’d age him at? Any guesses?
You know he isn’t the biggest racked deer but having seen him for the last couple years and passing him before, if I get the chance, I’m going to let one fly.
First pull of the year. I only had the two cameras out for 10 days before checking them. I got 3-4 nice bucks, but the unique one with the left side looks really nice!
Put my cameras out 2 weeks ago, I normally go 3-4 weeks between checking in the summer so to disturb them less, but I couldn’t remember if I turned one on, and I got reports from my parents of some nice ones out in the fields in the evening one night.
Now I should clarify my parents idea of a nice one and mine are not always the same thing (my idea of nice is usually bigger). BUT this time they were spot on.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics of a picture, forgot my thumb drive at home.
Folks were definitely right this time! Looks like you’ll have your hands full this fall.
Hasn’t been a day where Crab Claw hasn’t shown up at least twice during the daylight. Hopefully the trend continues, he’s slipping in his old age. Right out the back door.
I finally figured out what those “dead pixels” were dancing all over the forest floor…..mice!
It was a pretty lopsided victory in which camera got the best/most pictures this time, I have one on a thin strip of woods they use to get in between 2 ag fields, 40 pics on that one, 1 on a popular fence crossing spot in a inside corner of the fence/woods – 80 on that camera, and then the one all three of the above pics came from that’s over some loaded wild apple trees got 900 pictures.
If history serves as a guideline though about labor day they will switch to hitting the wild apples only in the middle of the night till early November when they come back in daylight (looking for does).
Just pulled the card.I’d probably drive a Rage through his cage if I got the chance.
Anyone ever seen a young of the year fawn , rolling with a bachelor group before?. The fawn in the lower right hand corner is always around when these two bucks are on the camera. No doe around the group. Pretty interesting. There are other photos of the two I can try to find and post. They don’t mind the fawn, even let it feed with them, but they wont let the other racked bucks feed at the same time. Anyone with insight ?
Is a bit odd, I’ve seen them in bachelor groups before, but the doe is always in the area too.
Edit: Ooops. Can we upload AVI video files or do I have to post on YouTube and link?
Just pulled the chips from the cameras. We got the usual deer pics, but just mainly more of the same.
Here are some videos that I thought were more interesting.
Yogi is back. Secure your picnic baskets.

A pleasant surprise on the backyard camera. Haven’t see him all summer and then just like that, there he is.
Now there’s a skunk with an attitude. Spray first, ask questions later. He’s not taking any crap from anyone. Including a trail cam.
