I harvested this buck on October 30. I was hunting an interior stand where 3 draws come together a major pinch point. With the cool down in the weather , it heated the mature bucks up here in Iowa .

Thank you . Kinda a sweet bitter hunt . Means I’m done in Iowa a short lived hunt really . I took this animal on state land . Actually scouted longer than I hunted . 3 days straight of scouting and reading topo maps . Walked in with a Summit climber on my back an took this deer in a hour .

Wow, I know the bitter sweet feeling but I’m hoping it’s a little more sweet than bitter. I guess that means you put in your effort and hunted smart. It’s not an easy feat putting a good public land buck down especially in Iowa where I hear things get a little pressured. Great deer! Congrats!
