I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2013 Lund 1600 Fury w/ a 25hp E-tec tiller. The question is does anyone have any experience with putting a 9.9 kicker on? I fish several lakes and reservoirs that are HP restricted so this is key to my decision.

Well, in 2013 your hull was rated for a 40, which would have weighed between 205# and 260#, depending on 3 or 4 cylinder. Your 25 E-TEC weighs about 160#, so you could have 100# to work with adding the 9.9

That was exactly my thought process. Hopefully, someone on here has done this before and can weigh in.

Just wondering do you already own the 9.9? If not, for trolling you really don’t need that big of kicker, I have a 5hp Honda on an Alumacraft 17.5

The 9.9 would be the main source of power on large/deep water reservoirs and lakes where they are HP restricted.

I’m sure it can handle the weight, but it looks like a snug fit on your transom to fit another motor. Is there enough beam to accommodate a kicker?? Will the motors be banging into each other??

    Here’s a couple of pics on a 2013 1650 Rebel with an 84” transom. It’s tight.

HP rating has to deal with how much weight the hull can hold?

I believe it is part of the equation. I offered it up in this case because if the hull could hold a single 250# outboard, it should be able to hold a 150# and a 100#.
