The tilt trim motor does work in the up direction but not in the down direction. My tilt and trim motor uses 2 solenoids (NOT RELAYS) to operate the trim motor, one for going up and one for going down.I do hear and feel the down solenoid click when I press the switch to go down, so I know it is getting signal from switch. These solenoids are about $100 each, so I am trying to make sure it is the solenoid. Does anyone know how I jump/bypass this solenoid to make the trim motor go down? Yes I know there is a screw that you turn to manually release the trim to allow it to go up or down. Just wanting to make sure it really is my solenoid. I know the trim motor is good because it goes up. So I am thinking it has to be the down solenoid or a broken wire between solenoid and trim motor. I think to bypass the down solenoid I jump from the positive terminal on the solenoid to the green wire on the solenoid ????????? Also I have been looking for a video on removing these solenoids. I am new here. Sorry if I posted in wrong area. Hi from West Virginia.
