I here you. Lucky if a dealer has 6-7 trucks on the lot. I saw trucks with 140,000 miles going for $30K. I wasn’t planning on selling it. I put over $3000 into this one in the last year.

I was surprised that the Kelly Blue Book is $10,100 in fair condition and $11,200 in good condition. I think it is in an honest good to very good.

What surprised me more was what the dealer gave me in trade for a 2016 Traverse with 42K miles that I didn’t like. Now I will have one less vehicle to insure, maintain and store. AND it gives me a spot in the garage for my boat in the winter.

Appears to be an extended cab. You had me excited. I would be on my way if it were a crew cab. Nice truck! The 1500HD is a great truck not many people understand were even made.

Not trying to rain on your parade. I could be wrong.
I’ve never seen a 1500hd that wasn’t a crew cab truck with 8 lug wheels and a 6.0 engine. From what I can see it looks like a standard half ton.
That L33 all aluminum 5.3 is a great engine though. They are built totally different than the standard 5.3.

In this 2006 GMC 1500HD, you can clearly see the exterior door handles for the rear doors.

I just sold a 2011 GMC extended cab. Wish I had an extra day of fishing for every time I heard that. Everyone wants the crew cab. Including me. My new truck is. Only bought the extended in 2011 because I wanted a 8′ bed and half ton.

It is confusing. I have the build sheet for it. It says – 1500HD crew cab. That is what I used for the description. But the more I look it seems to be a 1500 Extended Cab with HD towing package.

When I used KBB I picked options (engine etc.) as I know my truck has. Today I used the VIN and it says not a HD. ????? Built sheet wrong????

I will edit my post. Thanks guys.

Any chance you could scan and post the build sheet?

I double checked VIN. This is from GM. I got it from dealer when I bought it. I have a bunch of papers on it. I will look for more info.

I understand now why the 1500HD confusion. The model number (K15753) seems to be correct for your 1500 Extended Cab, no idea why the 1500HD description exists on that document.

    Sold my truck – $9900.

That put me into a 2018 GMC 1500 Double Cab with 23K miles for:
    – this 2006 GMC I had 10 years and paid $18000 for
    – a 2016 Traverse I didn’t like
    – and $5000 in cash.

    One less vehicle to maintain.
    One less vehicle insurance.
AND a spot in the garage for my boat. grin
