I just picked up a 14′ boat with a 25 hp 4 stroke Mercury that has no trim and tilt. Does anyone happen to know if this motor will accept one? It is a tiller also. It appears to have enough room. Just don’t know where to start on this. Thanks.

Just don’t know where to start on this.

Go here and launch the parts catalog; https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/parts-and-accessories/parts-catalog

Find your exact motor, scroll thru the parts diagrams that apply to your motor. If you see the tilt and trim parts are shown, they will fit your motor.
Once you know what you need and that it will fit contact a source for used parts.

I’ve looked at doing this in the past. Cost was not worth it. Better off selling current motor and buying a motor with T&T.

I’ll add, if you really like the motor, look at adding a CMC lift.

Exactly why I suggested used parts. As an example, I added “electric start” to an older 25hp Johnson tiller (1995maybe). New parts added up to over $800, I was able to purchase everything from one source, to my door in two days, for under $250 (I believe it was closer to $200, but don’t remember off the top of my head)

If the current motor is solid and a good runner, I would not hesitate to make the investment (in used parts from a reliable source).
