15hp Mercury 4 Stroke kicker. Remote steering and throttle, hydrolic trim. Uses same gas tank

Karavan galvanized tandem axle roller trailer. 2″ ball. New LED lights and wiring last year. 2017 tires and bearings. Trailer is only used once a year. One fender step is cracked.

The transom seems solid but I think it needs to be replaced. I’d do some research on price of having it redone or if it is something you can do yourself. The boat has always been stored inside. Both engines run great and it has been a great boat. Runs about 48mph, will hit 50 with a light load. Always used non-oxygenated gas and annually serviced. It does show signs of its age and usage. It has quite a few cosmetic scratches, dents, dock/rock trash. Only reason I’m selling is upgrading to something with a full windshield.

I’d get the transom inspected and then relist the boat assuming it’s ok.

Based upon your description it seems ok but your comments are going to scare buyers away. Your honesty is great but I think you may be doing yourself a disservice. If it’s inspected and gets a good bill of health you can sell with confidence.

When I traded in my 1999 Lund for a new one, the dealership took $2000 off their original sight unseen quote due to a 3 bubbles. Transom itself was still solid. I wouldn’t buy the boat unless the transom was repaired or a $5000 price reduction which is still not the cost of the repair based on a friend having one done.

We all know of one guy on this site that is doing a transom replacement with a pourable product then repainting the transom.
