Name says it all, looking for some recommendations for a nice rod real combo with 200-250 being my max budget.

what are you planning to do with it? Bass, walleye, blue whale? Troll, cast, spear fish? Really tough to give a good recommendation without knowing how it will be used.

Ya I just realized I forgot to put that. Spinning real, pole will mainly be used for walleye.

    Walleye/Panfish:

St. Croix Avid 6’9″ ML XF
    Pfleuger President size 25

    Walleye/Bass:

St. Croix Avid 6’8″ M XF
    Pfleuger President size 30

$190 rod and $60 reel, can get both on sale if you have time to look.

St. Croix Rage 610 mxf with Purist 25 or 30 depending if you like it more butt heavy or not. Had an Avid and not fond of it, especially when it broke on a hook set ( At least hold one and see how it feels.

You can have one built and stick a Shimano Sedona or Sahara on it for around that price.

I would personally go with a 6’10” Extra Fast Med. It is the one rod I take with me everywhere. Split Grip and split reel seat.
