These dodgers go for $10 at Sportsman’s or Cabela’s. I’m pretty close to $2 each making them myself.

There ya go Dave. Make those suckers. 100% endorse the making of one’s own tackle.

That extra $8 is to remove the Chinese Manufacturing smell once it arrives here. Thats why Harbor Freight is so cheap, they leave the smell on.

All the parts are probably still from China. US doesn’t make anything fishing related does it?

Hey Dave, how long are those?

I make them in 4.25” & 5.5”. Used for trout and Kokanee with lure 10” to 20” behind the dodger.

Any reason one couldn’t put a hook right on one of those and use it a s a spoon? I’ve been looking for mag spoon blanks and larger ones. Thinking about doing a few myself. Those would be a good size spoon for Lake Superior.

One tackle vendor that I can think of used to sell these with a hook for king salmon. The blanks are also thin enough that they are easy to bend for desired action. Untampered with, they can be trolled up to 3 mph.

Matt, one of my favorite dodgers is technically a spoon blank, SS, 6″ long. It has a good size cup on the back for a lot of action. If you would be interested in something like that, I can find and post a link.

Dig thru these Matt and you’ll find a couple big ones.

Thanks Tom. I was on that site yesterday and completely missed the mega spoon. That’s what I’m looking for.

Ok, another question. If I wanted to paint them a flat green color, what should I use?

    Matt, that spoon blank ahead of a 2 1/2″ – 3″ hoochie/squid would be a salmon slayer.

It could be a dual purpose lure. I like it.
