2.5 solo idling issue

My solo started as usual the past few days but once it warms up it won’t maintain a idle. It seems to be running fine other then having to feather the throttle between holes. I can’t see adjusting the idle speed since it has always idled fine up until the other day. Any suggestions on what to try or check first?

I always start with fresh gas and accurately mixed oil. Had a similar problem with mine and after a complete rebuild and cleaning. The issue was still there. Changed gas, problem solved.

I would adjust the idle screw. I had the same problem when I fired up the auger new out of the box. Half a turn did the trick for me. Also by the end of the season I had to readjust it again, seems like the vibration moves the screw around.

I always start with fresh gas. This is last few tanks of my first gallon of the season.

I usually like to make sure everything else is right before I adjust anything but turning it in about 1/2 a turn and it is back to normal.

Before you start adjusting the settings that previously worked for you I would suggest you try this fuel already premixed with 93 octane non ethanol gas, synthetic oil and a fuel stabilizer added as well. Also has a 2 year shelf life. This might solve your problems. I buy mine from Home Depot for like $6 a can.

Mine was doing the same thing but when I opened the gas cap it would run fine.
I replaced the end on the vent tube & so far all is good.

Today was the first day with my Lazer Pro. New 91 octane gas and Amsoil synthetic oil. Was difficult to start, and once started would not idle without holding throttle in slightly. Idled very slowly and weakly for the short time it would idle.

Turning idle screw in maybe 1/2 turn cleared it right up. Even though they are on springs, those idle screws might back out now and then. The Jiffy’s always seem to speed up, maybe the Solo’s tend to slow down.

Glad you got it fixed up!

Check your idle screw and also it could be spinning if the temperature outside is warm, shouldbt be spinning that much though…
