2.5″ Adjustable Drawbar?? (“Trailer Hitch”)

Looking to replace my draw bar on my pickup. I currently have an adjustable aluminum 2″ one with the 2.5″ steel adapter (my truck has a 2.5″ receiver), everything about drawbar is getting worn out and sloppy.

I did a little research and see a few options out there. I’d rather not spend $500+, are there any less expensive options that you guys have found satisfactory??? Would like it to have 6″ of adjustment and at have at least a 2″ and 2 5/16th ball.

I have a B&W adjustable that has been good for me. Mine has 2” and 2 5/16” ball. They make different size drops and you can flip it around to raise it even higher if needed

I have a 5 inch drop steel 2.5 single ball I’d let you have cheap. I pulled our dump trailer with it once. I believe it’s a Curtis.
( not sure why it re added my pic )

    You can pick-up a B & W for $300. Well worth the money imho. I love mine.

I’ll be the odd man out here – and yes I had a BW for work . I really didn’t care for it – when I went to move the pins there was always rocks and dust in the holes – making it a royal PITA to switch the pins around.. I know I shouldn’t leave it in – but habits are hard to break . . Needed a hammer and punch basically to move it around . . Mainly use the boat and the trailer for the wheeler so just have a hitch for each or the regular 2 inch drop works for both . . BW sits in the garage.

I have a Hyper Hitch and really like it. M&G trailer sold me on the no freeze feature

the pins need to have grease on them all the time and it will help with that. i take mine off when im not using it and it stays alot cleaner that way.

Have to keep them greased. Mine stays in 24/7 I adjust it between dump trailer, boat, sled trailer and flat bed. I have a 9 inch drop and use every adjustment frequently

Thanks for the input so far guys. Bearcat I might be interested in that one you don’t use.

I’ve been kicking that idea around too.

I’ve read reviews on various adjustable units, it seems like even the high dollar ones people eventually have issues with.

Might end up just buying solid units to fit my three trailers that will last forever and get another cheap aluminum one for any random trailer that would need adjustment.

I’ve considered the grease route but doesn’t that just attract a bunch of dust and other crap in the greased up holes you weren’t using ? Also seemed like my trailer slapped around a lot – I actually got BW to warranty my hitch and then sent me a newer piece without much slop z

Mine has 0 slop. You might need a shim.

The only slop mine has is where the shank goes into the reciever. I made some alluminum shims like bc said and that took care of most of it. B&W includes a small grease pack with there hitches and they say to keep the pins greased

I leave mine in all summer as I probably tow something 4-5 days a week, but take it off in the cold season when not using it once the rusting agents are spread all over the roads for no reason.

I have had good luck with those hitch tightener/stabilizers that are essentially a hardened U bolt to a bracket to eliminate slop or wiggling.
