    Barge came up through Clinton, Ia lock & Dam 13. How north can it go before Ice up?

    Haven’t been anywhere near the river but I’m guessing Pepin will stop it.

    Was at L&D 13 when it was locking thru, asked the deckhand how north they were headed, he said Dubq.

    There is a project going on at Dam 8,maybe others.March 13th or so is the deadline for those projects,then nav season begins.

    I was amazed at the tow boats coming south through 13 heading south Sunday not pushing anything, maybe over winter somewhere up north? The one I saw going upstream had some crazy looking barges, they were for hauling something nasty I believe they didn’t look like the ones hauling crude oil on the illinois.
