1992 Yamaha 40 HP 2 stroke – Worth?

    I have a 1992 Yamaha 40 HP 2 stroke. I have had it for the last 14 years and it has run very well over that period. It is the cleanest 25 year old motor I have ever seen under the hood. I just replaced it with a much newer Mercury 4 stroke and I am looking to sell it. What do you guys think this thing is worth? It has electric start and power tilt & trim. Here is a link to a video of it running showing the water stream and it’s acceleration.

    I will be listing it on Craigslist but, wanted some idea of what it may be worth.

    Around $1500-$2000. Just basing it on what I’ve seen.

    I sold my 1995 40hp Mercury 2 stroke 4 cylinder oil injected tiller motor with power tilt/trim this spring for $1700 in less than 24 hours on Craigslist. Replaced it with a 30hp Suzuki 4stroke after replacing the rotten transom I found after remove the Mercury outboard.

    Thanks guys. You have confirmed my thoughts. I was hoping I could get right at the $2k price.
