Just found this forum and I just bought my 5th Lund boat over many years. This boat was in not so good shape but so far I put a new floor in it and have to fix the electrical problems next. It is a tiller model with a Yamaha Pro 60 motor on it. I have a question on the swith panel on the side of the boat. It has a row of switches with fuses under them and below that there is another row of 5 fuses. What are these for? My second question is the fuel guage does not work, should I replace it with after market one? Last on the electrical on the boat are the fuel guage and the switch panel hot all the time or is there a shutoff somewhere in the wiring. Thanks for any help Ivan

I have a 1990 Lund Predator II. My switch panel is similar, but I only recall seeing one row of fuses. The last switch on the right is labeled “accessories” and that switch turns the gas gauge on and off. There’s a small light behind the gas gauge that shows if it has power or not too. Hope that helps, and welcome to IDO!

i ran out my gas today . i have brand new 2018 ,i checked at home..fuel guage show half tank. this is 4th times on water i noted it and talked to Lacannes marine. he said: fuel guage doesn’t right most the time, just add more gas when you going to the water.! so i don’t know but it’s true you don’t need to replace fuel guage ,i guess.!

Thanks for the info so far. The electrical issue may be partly because they did not have a battery in the front of the boat. It looks like this one picks u the power for everything from the trolling motor batteries. I read else where that Lund fuel guages on these boats are trouble. This boat has an onboard charger and a battery switch up in the front compartments. I am a little unsure if I should plug the charger in or not. I am rushing to get this boat fixed as I want to go walleye fishing on Houghton Lake this fall. I live about 10 miles from there

I’ll say I’ve been on close to a hundred different boats, from small fishing boats to 60+ foot cruisers, most fuel gauges on boats aren’t accurate simply because it’s hard to keep a boat perfectly level, the float/sending unit gets abused from the hard and constant sloshing of fuel, and the corrosion on the contacts changes the resistance of the power feeding the gauge.

I’ve always either kept a spare can of gas on hand or filled up before each trip.

Munchy.. I’m with you, every time I go I top it off. It’s just way to easy to stop and fill it and be sure your going to make the day. After a while, even if your gauge is off you can tell by the amount you add to fill it against the time you ran what your daily usage might be and where your gauge should approximately be reading. If its new and off take it back to the dealer and make them replace it, but if it’s older and not working replace the sending unit, it’s not a hard job.

ivan i have a 90 but its a single console. same fuse set up. All those fuses are for something. You just have to follow all the wires. behind them is a huge nest of bull crap. i was going to follow all of them and then label them but at this point, i just throw my hands up because i haven’t had much issues.

its my first lund and i love it. sure its 27 years old but it fits how i fish really well. i also have to imagine that a 60hp motor should be able to troll that boat down to 1.5-2mph without a kicker. my 100 evinrude xp will troll to 1.5 going upstream.
