New to the forum and site, does anyone know much about these older Lund Mr. Pike boats?

This is a 1981 that I found for sale and am interested in buying pending any and all feedback.

Honestly depend on price. See plent on the water still. How firms the floor? How’s transom

Transom is solid, floor was replaced last year. They are asking $3500 but willing to negotiate. I feel like I could restore it back to something I would be proud fishing in just wanted any opinions.

DJshannon- that looks great. Did you find any problems with leaking rivets or unforeseen problems during your restoration?

I didn’t have any leaking rivets. I did use 3M 5200 om the seam between the bottom and the side of the boat. If you look at the picture carefully, the 5200 is the white line that you see below the boat chime. The seal material that was exposed had started to crack and some of the exposed material had fallen out.

I would ask the previous owner what he used as a replacement floor material. Treated material and aluminum are not a good mix.

another question of interest would be how he preped the new floor panel before carpeting it. And what type of carpet glue he used. Latex glues tend to release when they get wet. They will re-dry but that can lead to weak adhesion.

If you read the story I posted in the link, my boat motor and trailer started at $800 and ended around $6000. At $3500, I would say it is probably a little high. I spent most of my money on fancy toys. Fancy seat (about $1000), professional paint and graphics ($1200) , electronics ($2000).

I have spent more on toys since.
I am currently running two Helix 9’s (SI – console, DI – bow), an I-pilot LInk Power drive trolling motor, an Ethernet hub mounted in the console, and Humminbird 360 (stern).

Bryan, It took me a while to find the right boat. I had a project boat in my mind when I started shopping. Older Lunds are great boats.
