I am trying to find the Lund Red paint code for the 1981 Lund 14′ c-14. I had a nice one stolen a few years ago from my son’s side yard and he has found another one, but it needs some new Lund Red paint. If anyone knows of a shade (preferably a one part polyurethane) that is close to the original, I would appreciate hearing about it. I have purchased Interlux 2-Part Epoxy primer for use when we get the existing paint removed, so I suppose an Interlux color would be preferred. I’m thinking of the Interlux Brightside paint. I have another old Chrysler 16′ Pro Bass that I am refurbishing, so the primer won’t go to waste if I need to switch systems. If another manufacturer such as PPG or some other brand has a close color without custom mixing, I’d consider that and forego the Interlux 2-part epoxy primer if necessary. If I have to get a custom mix, so be it. Just trying to keep things as simple as I can. Finally, I assume the Brightside paint needs a clear coat, but have not had an opportunity to speak with a supplier about that as yet. Any opinions about that would also be appreciated. The Lund Paint Code site only goes back to 1996. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

You could take it to a paint store and have them read the color with there color machine. Or just get a few color books and pick out the closest match. Having a color mixed in a single stage paint is not really any more expensive then buying colors already made up. The quality of the paint is where the extra $ come in the better quality the less fade..
