I don’t get it. Why would someone pay $20 to drive into the fairgrounds and pay $4 for a corn dog and $20 for two dozen cookies. Without nuts in them to boot.

Wouldn’t be for me, but considering it’s the best way to get state fair food this August, I can see why it’s so popular.

I’m sure people think plenty of us on here are idiots when it gets cold in November yet we want it colder to make fishable ice.

    To…each…their…own.

Doesn’t bother nor affect me in the least, in fact I hope it’s a double win in that they get their fair food fix and business people get some cashflow.

Most vendors are Minnesota based and hit the state fair here and North Dakota. I have known a few through the years and they need to make their money in the summers.

As far as the food thing at the fair………..who really cares? If people want to get out and do something so be it. They probably think it’s a bit crazy to go fishing all the time too.

I feel the same way for the state fair in general.

Actually there are quite a few fair vendors setup in random parking lots this year.

There was a big Jurrasic Park dinosaur thing there too. 80 moving Dino’s to look at while you eat your cookies……with nuts.

They probably wonder why idiots pay $5000. to $70,000. for a boat and gear to catch fish you could buy for $10 to $20 per lb.
My son’s family will be there but I won’t.

Financial transactions to local businesses are a good thing right now.

I think most just want some form of “Old Normal”. If they can get that sitting in a car eating junk food, more power to them! Go for it!

It isn’t the second largest fair for nothing. I’m guess a good chunk of the annual attendees will go.

Same. A handful of Martha’s cookies with some whole milk too. Maybe a maple bacon beer or four if I’m not driving. Plus a bottle of really dark honey from the 4H building to take home. It’ll have to wait until next year. Driving down there and eating in the car doesn’t appeal to me at all. It doesn’t capture the sights, sounds, smells, and experiences of the State Fair at all. However, to each their own.

These guys have been in Rochester malls parking lot for a couple months. They have moved over to Owatonna for a bit but planning to come back. And they are good!! The curds are excellent as well!
