Under the gunnel Sylvan has added a formed aluminum channel that the wiring and steering cables run under and on. I’m trying to remove the channel and have removed the rivets on the inside of the boat but the aluminum channel still seems pretty solid. I would like to add some rod holders to the top of the drivers side gunnel (passenger side done). I need to get the aluminum channel out and remove a short section of flotation foam so I can add nuts to the bottom of the rod holders. Anyone ever taken one of these out. Not sure what is holding it in place but I must be missing something.
