I am looking to get a stainless steel prop for my
2011 90 hp efi four stroke mercury (1731CC)
max RPM range for this motor is 5000-6000
on my Lund 1675 impact sport.
My current prop is a 12.75 x 21P 3 blade Black Max Aluminum.
This gets me to 5600 RPM and just shy of 42 MPH GPS
with all gear and two people on board (usual load for me)
I am thinking about going to
    a 13.25 x 20P 3 blade Laser II stainless
which I am thinking will get me over 5700 RPM
    Questions:
will using a Stainless prop effect the RPMs all other things equal?
    Suggestions:
prop size diameter or pitch others are using on a similar setup

I would not go with the laser prop its a poor performing prop. I would go with a Powertech NRS3 18 it will perform alot better, it will get your rpms up, better holeshot, handling, holding power in corners better bowlift and will be just as fast as your 21 pitch now if not alittle faster.

    Thanks propmann.
    I really appreciate the input.
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about the recommendation at first
with the 3 inch change in pitch.
    But
after reviewing the prop specs and checking all the info I had googled recently, I am impressed by the choice.
Just documenting the info to help others with the same rig:

3 inch change in pitch equates to about + 600 RPM
1/2 change in prop dia equates to about – 50 RPM
cupping on the prop equates to about – 200 RPM
the Rake will probably equate to some neg impact on RPM
going from alum to stainless equate to some neg impact on RPM

Which should bring the WOT to a very good place with the load I usually carry

    Wow, what a difference.
Took the boat to a local lake, no traffic at all.
Ran a half dozen straight baseline runs from 0 – 39.8 at 5700 in 20-21 seconds
Pulled the prop and torqued down the PowerTech.
Ran a half dozen straight baseline runs from 0 – 40+ at 6000 in 15-16 seconds
Motor actually hit rev limiter just shy of 6200 at almost 43 MPH
but that is with just me on board (prop selection is for 2 on board)
The boat gets on plane noticeably faster as well.
The handling is a lot batter. I can crank the wheel to lock in either direction without having to change the prop trim or back off full throttle .

Big thanks for the recommendation Propmann

With 2 people on board with fishing gear as well.
The boat gets up to 42 MPH GPS at 6000 RPM.
