Looking to install front helix to terrova’s bow mount trolling motor built in transducer. Noticed under bow an accessory set of wires. When I put voltmeter to them it shows 12V. Perfect! Do I need an inline 3amp fuse with the power hook up to my helix? All the fuses on my switch block are 5amps or more? I can’t really be certain if the accessory feed runs through the switch block, although if I shut off main power switch there is no power to the feed. Would hate to blow up the finder.

    thanks

Those wires should work. The fuses are there to protect the wires from melting, not your finder. Always install the fuse recommended by the install manual.

Sounds like the wires go through your fuse block if the main power switch turns it off. I’d start pulling fuses on the fuse block until you find which one kills the power to the feed, then you’ll know what circuit it’s on. On my old Pro V, those accessory wires were jumpered off the courtesy lights. If they are on their own fuse, you could always replace the fuse with a 3 amp instead of putting in an inline.
