12 volt deep cycle battery overcharge

I think I overcharged my deep cycle battery. It’s a Schumacher automatic batterycharger. I was charging one of my 12 volt batteries that I run in a pair to operate my 24volt trolling motor. I was charging it using 30amp boost mode..when I finally realised what had happened(because it was staying in charging mode yet not gaining any charge..indicated 12 on screen) I quickly shut off the charger. When I changed the mode and hooked the charger back up the voltage screen read 95 so I quickly unhooked the charger ( is this possible that I charged a new 12 volt battery to 95volt?) Or is it more likely the battery was saying 9.5 volts and I just did not see the . ? I’m afraid to go near it but I did touch it and it wasn’t hot.

Doubtful you hit 95v. Get a multimeter and check the voltage of the battery, that’s the only way to know where you’re at and if the charger is working properly.

LOL, glad you figured it out. That was my guess. I have one that will alternate between displaying volts and % charged. )
