1100/870 Butt Stock?

Are the butt stocks on a Remington 1100 and an 870 interchangeable? Obviously, the forends differ, but I see conflicting opinions on the butt stocks. I need a shortened LOP on an 1100, and finding an 1100 youth stock is impossible.

They are not designed to be interchangeable but it will work. The 870’s use a much longer bolt, which is not interchangeable. I have put a youth stock on an 1100 before, I used an older 870 screw I believe. Stuck it in the stock and cut it down to the length I needed. It was a synthetic stock, don’t think I needed to modify the inside at all, but it was 10 years ago…I could be wrong. I do not own the gun any longer.

Thanks. Never in my life did I think it would be this difficult to source one.

You’re really dragging this project out, Ralph. That’ll learn you for being a cheapo and not buying the little woman a nice new shotgun of her own.

Not intentionally! It’ll be done as soon as I can find a stock for the vertically-challenged FW.

Cheapo? Yes. Why spend the money when perfectly good guns are gathering dust? Plus, if anyone is getting a new shotgun, it’s me. tongue

Also, puppies, e-collars, and professional trainers are expensive. moon

Just won an eBay auction, so there may be an end to this saga!
