Where would the Wild be without Parise. Fun to watch him play.

Man, I’m glad that game ended in a shootout win! The Wild scoring 2, repeat 2, power play goals and on the ROAD! That’s an effort that should be rewarded.

And once again, Koivu demonstrates why he only has one shootout move. Because he only needs one shootout move. It must drive goaltenders crazy. It’s coming, they know it’s coming, he does it, and they still can’t stop it.

Last night as he was going it it looked like he was going to mix it up. Dubnyk looked a little ticked after that one.

The Wild were also very fortunate that the refs missed a couple penalties, one would have been at least 4, probably five. I mean, you loose a tooth, that has to be worth 5.

The next 12 games are huge and a great opportunity to get on track and start rolling. They include 4 and 3 game home stands. They play the Preds (2H), Jets (1H – 1A) and Dallas (1A). Sprinkle in some good Easterns Teams and the Blackhawks.

After that they spend 7 of 9 on the road. It would be nice to have confidence going into that road trip and maybe some cushion by moving up in the standings.

Wild are currently in 5th in the Western Conf / Central, and they are 3 points behind Winnipeg if I’m counting correctly.

However, the Wild have been 2-3 games behind Winnipeg in terms of games played all year due to the strange “week off” the wild had early in the season. So while we’re 3 points behind the 4th place team, it’s not the gap that it seems.
