It really depends on the time of the year. But a small list of items I use throughout the year are as follows: Hutch’s Jigs, B-fish-n plastics, Blade baits, home-made hair jigs, Three-way rigs, Slow death hooks (crawlers), VMC 7105 hooks (minnows) and a small assortment of Rapala Original floaters. There are many other tactics folks use, these are just the ones I use and like the most.
1/8 and 3/16 ounce jig heads, unpainted. Purple/char tail ringworms. White moxies. Firetiger, blue/silver and red craw #7 shad raps. 5/16oz chartreuse hair jigs. A firetiger rippin rap. A 5″ swim bait with a 1/4 ounce swim bait jig head. Maybe throw in a DT6 or a bomber for pounding wingdams where the shad rap might not hold up. This is coming from a guy who carries a dozen or more planos on every trip, but I could definitely get by on this list if I had to.
Snap weights come in handy to get you lures down deep. Maybe even a lead core rig but that would likely come in a little over $100. You could buy a yearly pass for the Hudson launch? Oh, wait. Not enough money……..
