I know Cabelas/BPS can be a polarizing topic but I wanted to make people aware that apparently they’re doing a special with Father’s Day next weekend where you can get 10% off gift cards there. It ends tonight so you don’t have much time but hopefully it helps someone out. If you think you may make a big purchase there in the next year or so it’s not a bad idea; where else can you get a 10% return equivalent on your investment?

I havent tried it with this cabelas promotion but I did put a cabelas gift card in the shopping cart on cabelas site and it had an option to pay with a gift card listed as an option. So the idea would be go buy a cabelas gift card at raise.com saving 12% on that and use it to buy a gift card at 10% off on cabelas site. Side note, raise currently has bass pro shops cards discounted even higher but the cabelas site says in order to use a bass pro shop gift card on cabelas site you need to call the order in.

So, what you are saying is that you can essentially get a Cabela’s gift card for 22% off, which means that you then buy the stuff you want for about the same price as Amazon, Sportsmans Warehouse, or FishUSA.com when you factor in that discount. ;)

depends on how you shop. personally ive purchased hundreds of items at cabelas over the years. I would say roughly 95% of those items were on sale. I don’t buy stuff at cabelas at retail price but they were great cause they offered good items on sale quite often. In some cases at a deep discount too. Since the takeover i don’t really shop there anymore though.

Exactly. I have several hundred dollars worth of Cabela’s gift cards that I use whenever a killer deal comes along. I paid $80 for each of the $100 gift cards so that gives me an automatic savings. But then I come across a killer deal such as the Cabela’s Camp Kitchen I got for $93, when it was normally like $150 I believe. Looking at their site now, this item is no longer offered and has been replaced by the Bass Pro camp kitchen, which is crap compared to the Cabela’s one. Anyway, just one example.

But yes, for everyday purchases, Fleet Farm or Gander are my choices for their lower prices.
