I’m looking for a 1” thick board to mount on my boat for the transducer. I’m thinking with these new larger transducers 3/4” is to thin. What do you guys think? I found one up in Canada, but they want more to ship it than the cost of the board. I know I could order the material and make one, but I’d rather just order one.
    Thanks All.

Call a restaurant supply store & ask for a 1″ thick cutting board. Have your measurements ready.

A-Z Restaurant Equipment (763) 389-4345 in Princeton will have it. Be sure to specify 1″.

You could go through the effort of tracking it down, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. I have a MSI+ transducer attached to the standard 3/4″ board and that thing isn’t going anywhere. If you have it mounted properly, there really is very little force imposed on the bigger side imaging tranducers. Mine is positioned so it’s not even in the water on plane.

Like I said, up to you if it gives you piece of mind, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

I just used a 3/4″ board for my new Hummingbird SI transducer and it was more then enough. You could glue 2 together just to be safe if your worried LOL

Menards 1 1/4″ PVC Trim Board. It’s 1″ thick. downside is you have to buy a 10 foot piece. They have it in stock in the board aisle.

3/4 is plenty. They are so dense no screws is coming out of them. Add some epoxy and for piece of mind if you want.

I used a scrap piece of 1″ composite deck board. It’s made for outdoor use, so I figured it would be fine. Probably at least 10 years old and still fine.
