Made it out today for about 5-6 hours. Fished from 830-2ish. I did bring a limit home but the bite was not hot and heavy by any means. Every fish I caught was on minnows and came after 11. Often I was spot locked just jigging and here and there I would crawl around at .2-.3 and that would trigger a bite. The fish were deep. I got mine in 25-35 feet of water. Found a 35′ hole near the first wingdam and marked a bunch of fish in it. I usually don’t fish this deep but thankfully every fish I got deep was big enough to keep.

Talking to a few people sounds like the bite has been slower during the day but the night bite has been good.

    Nice.

My youngest started yakkin right before I was about to drop her off at the in-laws yesterday and shoot down with couple guys. Needless to say plans changed.

Monday is scheduled to be down there.

    How’s the water clarity?

Running clean. Probably 3+ foot clarity. Not much floating ice.

Who’s going to be out this weekend? I plan to give it a go Saturday. I have a few patterns that were successful in December that I’ll probably start with but just looking forward to getting on the water because ice fishing sucks.

I’ll be in a white Lund with a talon and 90hp Johnson so say hello if you see me.

You realize it’s been windy all day and is still blowing 12 right now?

Yup. And you need a new weather ap because it was blowing a lot more than 2mph in red wing.
