Most guys want a glorified mini van
I can get a stack of 4×8 sheets of drywall in my minivan

A minivan is a better work truck than a short box at least you have the option to fold down the seats

Not compensating just satisfying. Take a long tool to satisfy a long box.

Posts: 107March 7, 2019 at 12:14 pm #1841284To the original poster: Last May, I purchased an F150 supercrew with the 6.5 box. I went to a large volume dealer that had a few in stock. I was firm that I would only purchase a truck with the 6.5 box. In addition to those on the lot, the sales guy was able to search a 600 mile radius for trucks with what I wanted. He found others and told me he could get them to his lot within 24-48 hours. I think if you find the right dealer you shouldn’t have a problem. They obviously want to sell you what they have on their lot, but a good dealer will take care of you.
March 7, 2019 at 12:24 pm #1841290Took me 3 months to find a crew cab with a 6’6” box. When I went into the dealer they kept trying to talk me into a 5’6” box. “do you really need a 6’6” box?” they kept asking me. The second time the sales person asked me that I asked for a different sales person and he got the hint. It hurt going from an 8’ box to a 6’6” box. I don’t know how people can get away with a 5’6” box unless they don’t hull stuff.

Like I said I am genuinely worried about going to a short box now after reading these posts but I had to choose that in order to try a crew cab for the first time due to garage space. I got a feeling the shorty will look odd with a topper.

They’re not too bad. My neighbor has my same truck and color in a shorty with almost the same topper and it looks fine.

No. That’s like saying a Mudpuppy is the sexiest fish out there.

You confused box length with a city boys’ lift kit and worthless rims
