Slender Spoons, Slender Pickings

I went to three different sporting goods stores today. Think a guy could find some? Nope. Two were major stores and the other was a family bait shop. Lots of cocked heads when I asked where they were. You would think with the success these lures have they would be keeping the stores stocked. They are cheap and they work just as good if not better than buckshots. My tackle box is pretty well full with the right colors but I wanted to gift some to a few friends. Well now I will have to go directly to the source. I guess that is not a bad thing though

I hate to ask, but do you mind sharing some of your favorite color combos?

Online is the only way to go! You get all the sizes and colors and the shipping is quick!

You have to go online. Think about these bigger stores, with all the variations in ice flies/spoons/colors, it would be impossible to stock everything from every manufacturer.

The shipping cost is usually cheaper than driving around town shopping to.

Well, you have to keep in mind that it is all about marketing.
IDO is the only place I know of pushing the Slender Spoon.
Northland and Lindy are advertised on every other page of magazines…
Just because they are advertised does not make them better but its what “average Joe” is bombarded with.

Gold body with any color for walleyes and perch. My two favorites are chartreuse on the strip and glow also.

For crappies the silver bodies are what I prefer. Blue strip and once again glow.

Just got my shipment of Slender Spoons from Custom Jig & Spin yesterday. Took a whopping 2 days to receive. Placed them lovingly in their new Plano condo minutes ago.

I stopped at the Cabela’s in Rogers to burn up some Cabella Bucks about a month ago and the pickings were very slim. But they had inventory tags on all the empty pegs. The clerk told me they would arrive soon. I stopped back 2 weeks ago and they had fewer yet. I hope copper with the red patch works cuz that is the only color they had in the 1/8 oz size.
