I SUCK at Turkey Hunting!

But these were a HELL of a consolation! SW rural Metro area, south-facing slopes. After spooking a gobbler coming into our deeks at dawn and then failing to woo several others before they stopped talking to us all together, my son and I switched target species! Probably only looked for 90 min or so and got 13. Left several behind as well. Had them on Ribeyes tonight, see the recipe forum. What a gorgeous day to be in the woods, no matter what you’re hunting!

Not sure one day of failure would qualify as sucking at turkey hunting. The majority of hunters don’t fill their tag each spring.

Keep at it, get in your blind earlier, and be patient.

It was just a set-up for the morel post, Gim! We’ll keep at the gobblers. 13 yr old got a bit wrestless so we switched it up.

Been having the same problem down here in Iowa. I must admit that I like morels better then turkey, though.

I’m gonna stick with my morals and not ask for your morels. Don’t need ya’lls mushroom tips though; I’ll probably stumble across some while hunting the elusive stocked brown trout. Yee yee

Half backyard chicken and half store bought turkey. Its a blend between the two.
