I didn’t want exposed wires running along the tubing, so I just use the Clam Fan/Light combo that clamps to the top cross bar. Works just fine and can be removed when not being used…

I’ve got a HT light and fan combo and that works great, has a hook that slips right over the crossbar and lights it up really good!

I don’t have a hub house, but what about using a single mantel propane lantern?

Any idea what the price is?

20$, I don’t use it in a hub house but it’d work the same there. It isn’t a ton of light, but it’s enough for me. If you want more get a propane lantern. Those work great!

I made a UFO style light. Take a 5 gallon lid and some LED strip lights. Drill holes and zip tie it as you work it around the lid. I angled mine outward so it will shoot light toward the corners of the hub. Then I run speaker wire down to my power box. Attach it to the center with Velcro straps and you’re set.

I used an LED strip and cut the strips to length. Attached those to the top poles and soldered all joints together. I used RGB so I can change the color. White is best for general purpose, but can switch to red, green or blue when I don’t need the super bright white. Still gives plenty of light with the other colors. The install was easy, just need the tools and a little know-how. I ran an insulated wire down the pole with an anderson plug on the end. That plugs into my power box. Mine is on a fatfish 6120, but same concept.. The nice thing is the lights stay installed and can be folded up with the tent. I’ve used it 2 seasons now and haven’t had any issues and it is super bright. In the photo, there is a second set of plain white lights I installed to compare the differences. That is why there is the xtra set of wires.

    Hey RJ,

What is the battery life like on those fan/ligts? I was looking at them earlier this year, but didn’t want to have to be continuously be buying batteries every time I go out.

I haven’t run out of battery yet and I’ve probably been running mine for a total of roughly 8 hours so far on this set of batteries, granted I don’t use the fan but they’ll last a while I’d guess!
