A much long overdue trip was needed to the Glacial Lakes of NE South Dakota for our group of friends. Walleyes were on the agenda for Friday afternoon and perch today. Well needless to say we were greeted with some warm Temps, winds, and the Walleyes were chewing. We landed several fish over 25 inches as well as several over 20. We were fishing in a featureless lake/slough in a18 feet of water. These fish were coming in suspended a few feet off and crushing the VMC Tingler spoon tipped with a minnow head. I was lucky enough to catch a 29.75″walleye to ice the day. Awesome start to the trip!. Looking for perch today!

    Nice catch Cal!

What is the white gizmo on the ice?

Do the rest of us need one?

Whopper wally, bigger than any I’ve ever caught. Never broken the 28″ mark myself.

Beautiful fish, Cal! I hope you guys get to find those perch but if the walleye keep biting I’m not sure how much time I’d spend looking. waytogo

Not sure. But I do know he would be disappointed it wasn’t a big gill. grin

How long you going to hold out before heading back for round #2 with the big eyes?

Not sure what Joel would call it, but guaranteed he’d give it a big hug as soon as it came out the hole.
