Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but I couldn’t find it so I’m posting. Sorry if it is a re-post. Too bad this fish couldn’t be released.

Amazing! Now that is a nice 55’er! The story says he tried to release it, but the fish did not revive. Love all the pix thay shot. Great story!

He doesn’t own a car, just that boat, that he drives to work every day. The water looks awesome over there.
Sign me up, I want to drive to work every day in my boat too
Congrats to the angler, that is one heck of a fish
Huge fish, I want one of those. Looks like it has a five pound sucker in it’s belly.
What a monster
That has to be one tough boat, he must set it up as a scratcher for the winter months
HUSKYMUSKY
What can you say about that young musky junkie but….DESERVING!
Thanks for posting that Mendotaeye
Yeah, my biggest muskie is like 30 inches. That thing could have ate mine. Yeah, actually he probably could’ve ate 2 of them. CONGRATS to him!!!

WOW that thing is a beast. That will be me in a month but mine will be 8lbs bigger. I can see it now Tim Schmitz new Minnesota state record Muskie holder
Can I please come net it for you
Love to see it happen
Nice fish. Unique coloration. I have 50 incher on the wall for the same reason. I caught it trolling for eyes. After 30 minutes of attempting to revive it just went belly up and died. I spoke with a few muskie addicts and they told me that unfortunately it does happen. I’m not sure it is true, but I thought I gave it my best. I still feel bad though.
yes you can Bob well be in Cals boat with him tied up on the floor

I don’t mean to burst your bubble Timmy but that headline could very well read Bob Bowman MN state record
Either way ya shake it, I’d like to see a Bob Bowman Vs. Tim Schmitz Lungeoff

A fish like that hits the net, I don’t care who sets hooks, I just want to be in the boat.
With the year Tim’s having, I will be happy to get the net

Like Bob said I don’t care who sets the hooks as long as I’m in the boat the Bowman Schmitz lungoff sounds fun.

Excellent, but it is a shame she didn’t make it.
what I find really cool and admirable about muskie bums is that, if that fish revives, it’s still swimming…and the guy apparently spent a lot of time trying to get it going…
but if the fish wasn’t going to make it…it’s a good thing to go the rest of the way and certify it…
Great story all the way around…great photos…I hope/wish they’d talk a bit more about how hard the guy worked to revive the fish … as his intent was not to get a record…
