Looking for (free) plans for building a shooting house or ground blind. Might be put on stilts or might just sit on the ground. Looking for something that is probably 6x6x6′ or so in dimensions, but I won’t be picky.. I can alter the plans as I need to, but just need an idea to get started.

Anyone know of any free plans on the internet that are halfway easy and halfway decent?

Thanks for the help!!! Links or websites would be great… Otherwise, feel free to pm me and I’ll get you my email.

    Mike

Steve Plantz posted the plans for one not too long ago. Maybe he will repost it????

If you are looking to elevate it off the ground I would highly recommend using the Elevators. CLICK HERE to view them. When I build a few shooting h9osue last year I looked at what might be going up 15-17 feet in the air and when I saw my Dad, my wife, and nieces and nephews along with my own kids some day, this was the safest way of putting a blind in the air and having the piece of mind knowing it will support the precious cargo up there. The bullet of $84 for four of these per stand was easy to bite. These things are rock solid.

Thought I would bring this one back up to the top, has anyone here built one of these using the Elevators?

If you already have a pop-up blind and can get to you stand to take it down or re enforce it before a heavy snow you might look at this option.

I love hunting out of these things and they are easy to take down and move with just 2 men. I bow hunt and gun hunt from mine. Platform is 8 x 6 and the 4×4’s are 10ft.

That is exactly what I am thinking of doing Jeff as I do already have a new Covert Blind. (Thanks Mike!) Do you know about how much $$$ you have into the lumber?

    And thanks for the reply!

A few more questions for you Jeff……
How did you secure the blind to the platform?
Did you use the cables to secure the stand to the ground?
Safety factor? Have you thought about precautions to prevent falls? If someone would trip and fall what would prevent them from falling through the blind or taking the blind down to the ground with them?
