I fished a club tournament in june with a guy that owned a Stroker. I have not talked to him since but I was wondering what they go for??

At the time I fished with him I did not like it that much because of the speed. But I guess it would be different if I was driving myself. The boat hit a top speed of 89.9 mph while we were running down the mississippi.

But then again with the new rules that are going to take place on the Mississippi I would not have any use for a boat like that.

Was there room for an on-board battery charger in the boat? Did it have rod-lockers?

Strokers are sweet! Not very common, but a great quality high performance boat. Expect to pay ~40K for a 20 ft w/ 250hp.

Strokers can easily be used in the same sentence as Allisons, Bullets, and Blazers !

A guy used to run one around Lake City and Wabasha in the tournaments. That thing was crazy fast. I heard rumors that at its best he was over 100 mph. He did have problems keeping the engine together but when it ran it ran. It had a Merc 285. The dude could really catch fish too.

This boat that I fished out of was great to be in. Enough deck space for fishing and going to get the net. We need that the day I fished with the guy. We ran 9 miles to my spot (so did 2 other boats) and we had 3 keepers in the boat before the next group showed up. It was a crazy day 13 keepers on buzzbaits before 8 am. The only two down falls to the day was when we rolled down the side of a wave at 89 mph. The other was fact that at that speed it was not the smoothest of rides.

    Not really…

My only requirements for a boat are that it’s long, pointy, light, and goes really, really fast!

HOWEVER , I have to hang my head in shame because someone caught me in a NO-WAKE zone during a tournament ACUALLY not making a wake with this photo to prove it. I guess I can go 4mph if I HAVE to.

Head south and you’ll see some more. I wouldn’t say Stroker’s were “common” were I cut my teeth fishing (Norfork and Bull Shoals Lakes) but there were several out running around. Like D-nort said, same sentence as Allison, Bullet, Gambler, etc. To me, they resemble the Gambler the most just by the way that most of them sit in the water.
